The advantage with a lossless which is compressed format is that there is no loss of quality at the editing stage. I think FRAPS also records in a proprietory format but since you then have its codec installed it will allow you to import. Maybe your own program also allows this. You can use xvfw in dxtory. So you can select almost any filesize, any recording quality. I think I might have found the problem. I tried making an. Vegas had no problems importing in, the file size wasn't huge, and I'm more than happy I can now proceed with my recordings. Have you done anything with Quicktime or iTunes on the computer in between the time it worked and when it started to fail? I recently had issues with VP11 and rendering, editing was fine, but I had to uninstall VP11 and all my codecs, then reinstall VP11 then I was able to render my project without incident.
Ok, i reinstalled the latest quicktime just to be sure. Still no luck, here an image: sonyvegas. Below are examples of the default Vegas Sony AVC render — this will work for YT, even though it will produce a file that is large and not ideal for uploading. As a test, try those same settings and let us know if the rendered file has sound. Also, you mentioned that rendering with a different choice of codec worked; which one s have you tried that worked?
It depends on if you also have any codec-paks installed. I cant get Vegas 11 pro to show me the sony avc options when I render. Keep having to use main concept for now, how can a sony product keep having so much trouble with their own video format? Anyone know? I have tried about everything including a clean install, but it does the same thing.
David M. More than likely something on your PC is causing it not to work. Something on your PC may be interfering. Although, I would have crashes occasionally, but these seemed to be CPU overheating, now have the Antec Kuhler which took care of that.
It seems that there are other people in the same boat as me.
